Things To Avoid In Your Child's Hair Routine

Things To Avoid In Your Child's Hair Routine

Happy Sunday! I hope you are having a restful weekend. Today's blog is about things you should avoid doing in your child's hair care routine.

Please continue to bear with us as we refill stock. Thank you for your patience.

1. Don't Use Rubber Bands - Using rubber bands to keep the hair ends in place has long been in practice in black hair routines. However, this is not advised, as when you remove them, they can cling and pull out your child’s hair. As mentioned in our blog last week, snagless hairbands are the type of hairbands we would recommend that you use in tying hair.

2. Don't Use Extensive Products - Avoid using an excessive amount of products on your child's hair and try to stick to natural products. Less is more. Your child's scalp is sensitive and still developing, so harsh products could cause long term damage. Your child's true hair texture may not reveal itself until they are at least eight years old.

3. Don't Detangle Harshly - If your child's tender scalp is treated harshly when they are young, this could lead to long term hair loss. Use water to soften their hair throughout the detangling process and try to finger detangle before using a wide-tooth comb or tangle teezer.

4. Don't Relax - This is an obvious thing to avoid and probably the worst thing you could ever do to your child's hair. The chemicals in relaxers are extremely harsh and should not touch your child's hair in any way, shape or form.

5. Don't Use Too Much Heat – Using heat often on your child’s hair could cause heat damage. So, try to air dry more than blow dry and even in their teens years, try to prevent them from straightening their hair often.

Great product

Have been using these products for a little while now and have to say I am very happy with how my hair looks and feels after using them. My hair is in the transition stage and these products are perfect for both textures that I have right now. Would recommend for natural or chemically treated hair lovely.

Very moisturising shampoo

I'm a hairdresser and use the shampp and conditioner all the time well recommended. I. Would never use another product

Twist and Curls Hair Pudding

I wasn't too sure after receiving the pudding. Thought it might be too oily for my hair. But after using with my liquid this moisturised my hair very well. My hair gets dry very quickly and this product kept my strands soft longer than many other products I have used.

Sulphate Free Shampoo and Triple Protein Masque

This is my second bottle of Sulphate Free Shampoo and its a very good product. Shampoo doesnt need much product to foam up. I like the clean smell of the product not too much or no scent, just right. Hair feels thoroughly clean once rinsed. Thumbs up!

From the the moment i squeezed the Triple Protein Masque product into my hand to put in my hair i could tell the consistency was just right for my high porosity hair. So this is now what i will be using for my much needed protein treatment for the future. Another good product.

Fantastic product

I use this on my hair as well as my daughters her. It works wonders and I now can’t live without it!
It moisturises and detangles hair so well. I use it with my braids and I’ve noticed my hair isn’t dry when I take it out. I also use it on my daughters hair daily.
